#Occupy
This “Occupy” nonsense really needs to come to an end once and for all. It’s disturbing to me that out of all the people involved in this movement, there hasn’t been any significant outcome to any of these protests except hundreds of people being arrested and hurt. Quite honestly, I don’t even think the majority of these people know exactly what they are protesting for. In case your are one of them and happen to be reading this- let me tell you what you stand for…
In a nutshell, the whole #Occupy movement was initiated by the Canadian-based Abduster Foundation whose protests are against social and economic inequality, high unemployment, greed, corruption and the undue influence of corporations.
I agree with everything they stand for. However, my problem with the #Occupy movement is that most of them aren’t even educated about what they are fighting for and are participating just to fit in and be a apart of something. If you want to make a real difference, make yourself valuable to the world and get a job. Sure, the unemployment rate is terrible right now, but if you take pride in your appearance, know how to present yourself and have something to offer, you’d probably be working somewhere decent right now. It’s that simple.
To summarize, there hasn’t been any significant progress made from these protests thus far, and doesn’t seem like there will be any in the foreseeable future. You can make a difference, but right now you are going about it totally wrong.

MY TAKE ON THE CHRIS PAUL SITUATION…
Judging by all the chatter I’ve heard in the past few days, I wouldn’t be surprised if Chris Paul is a Knick for the season opener in less than a month. It’s obvious the Knicks do not have as many assets to offer the Hornets right now as they did in the deal for Melo. However, I do think that they have more leverage in this situation being that the Hornets have their backs against the wall. They know CP3 is not in their future, so they might as well take what they can get for him rather than losing him for nothing. I don’t think any other team would take him knowing he will not sign an extension with them. There’s been talk of the Clippers trying to trade for him and him being okay with it, but I don’t see that happening… One way or another Chris Paul will be a Knick… Quote me on that…
SONG OF THE DAY - Toto - “Georgy Porgy”
Yes, I do listen to much more than Hip-Hop….. If you consistently check in, I can promise that you’ll be amazed in how well-rounded I am when it comes to good music. This song really needs no introduction, it’s a damn classic. ENJOY!
HOBO WITH A SHOTGUN
If Rob Zombie were to direct a Pee-Wee Herman movie, you would end up with “Hobo With A Shotgun.” Sounds outlandish doesn’t it? The other night my brother and I were looking for a movie to watch, came across this and couldn’t resist. Being a communications major in college, I was never big on indie films after seeing the bullshit my peers would make in film class. It put a real bad taste in my mouth and made me lean more towards music. However, if they were making movies like this, the outcome may have been different. Apparently, “Hobo With A Shotgun” started off as a trailer to promote the movie “Grindhouse” in some sort of competition. After receiving great reviews, the director Jason Eisener had the opportunity to turn it into a full-length film. Overall, it was solid, but nothing spectacular. I would definitely recommend it based on how damn bizarre it is. Check out the trailer and see for yourself…
SONG OF THE DAY - Nas “U Gotta Love It”
This takes me back to high school and fits the mood precisely right now. There’s nothing better than a mellow, retrospective cut from Nas to complement a relaxing night in after a full day at the 9-5.
Known primarily for his work with Nas, producer L.E.S. creates an unbelievable soundscape for Nas to go to work on. The first time I heard this joint was on a Nas mixtape back in 98, but it wasn’t officially released until the “The Lost Tapes” dropped in 2002. Glad they didn’t let this one go to waste…
Song Of The Day - Game - “Dreams”
The other night while tearin’ up the town, somebody played this on the jukebox in one of the bars I was in and it’s been stuck in my head since. I was never that big on The Game, but Kanye’s production really carried him on this. I think that’s what makes a producer. If you have the ability to make artists sound better than they are normally capable of sounding, then you possess something special- i.e. Kanye West. By no means am I shitting on The Game, but let’s be real here…
LIMITLESS
This is one of the best movies of 2011, hands down. I didn’t hear much about it being in the movies, but happened to stumble across it on Netflix by chance. To sum it up without giving it away, Bradley Cooper plays Eddie Morra, a writer who’s down on his luck until he comes across a drug which enables him to employ 100% of his brain power, as opposed to the 10% humans use on average. His ability leads him to living a better, much healthier lifestyle, or so it seems. The drug’s side effects eventually take a toll on his body and leave him faced with some major problems he has to deal with. This is a must-see… Trust me…
THANK GOD! The NBA just announced that the lockout is officially over!!! The season will begin on December 25th with a triple header featuring The Heat vs The Mavericks, Lakers vs Bulls and Knicks against The Celtics… Can’t wait….

Interesting write-up I came across…
